On the 15th Sunday after Pentecost, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Nativity of the Lord.
The Metropolitan was assisted at the Service by archpriest Vadim Cheibas, Cathedral Dean, the priests and deacons of the Cathedral, and a group of priests from Moscow and St. Petersbourgh who are visiting Moldova participating in the international Orthodox Football Tournament “The Cup of Right-Faithful Prince Vladimir”.
This Sunday’s Gospel Reading (Matthew 22:35-46) teaches us that there are no greater commandments than those of loving our God with all our heart, all our soul, all our mind, and that of loving our neighbour with as ourselves. Loving God means filling our thinking with God, praying and thanking Him for everything, researching the Holy Scriptures and living according to our faith, to materialize our love of God in our relations with the people around us.
During the Divine Liturgy, deacon Serghei Jelihovschi was ordained priest, and Theology graduate Oleg Chfeac was ordained deacon.
Metropolitan Vladimir congratulated the newly-ordained clergymen, wishing them to be faithful and worthy servants of the Holy Altar, guiding the entrusted flock on the way of salvation, in the spirit of purity, humility, faith, and love.
