On the commemoration of Repose of Venerable Sergius of Radonezh, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir prayed together with the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church at the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Dormition of the Theotokos in the Holy Trinity – St. Sergius Lavra in Sergiev Posad.

Sunday, 8^th October 2017, on the commemoration of the Repose of St. Sergius the abbot of Radonezh and Wonder Worker of entire Russia, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all Russia celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Dormition of the Theotokos Cathedral in the Holy Trinity – St. Sergius Lavra.

Praying with Patriarch Kirill were numerous arch-pastors, priests, and deacons.

Expressing immense spiritual joy of the Christians from the Orthodox Church of Moldova, Metropolitan Vladimir prayed together with the Patriarch and praying community in St. Sergius Lavra.

After the service, Metropolitan Vladimir was awarded by Patriarch Kirill a high distinction of the Russian Orthodox Church – the 3^rd degree Order of Venerable Sergius of Radonezh, in sign of appreciation of high pastoral mission and on the occasion of the Metropolitan’s 65^th anniversary.
