With the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and Moldova, the Divine Liturgy on the Fourth Sunday after Pentecost was celebrated in the Central Cathedral in Chisinau by the Metropolitan Vicar Bishop Ioan of Soroca.
His Grace Ioan was assisted at the service by archpriest Vadim Cheibas, Metropolitan Secretary and Dean of the Cathedral, and the clergy of the holy settlement.
Liturgical responses during the Liturgy were provided by the cathedral’s choir conducted by Mrs. Angela Angheni.
Bishop Ioan addressed archpastoral message to the liturgical community after the Gospel Reading (Matt. 8: 5-13) during the Divine Liturgy. The archpastor underlined the faith of the Centurion mentioned in today’s Reading, showing that today’s Christians, just like the Hebrew more than two thousand years ago, might have something to learn from the faith and piety of those who are not Christians actually, but sometimes have more faith and fear of God than many nominal Christians.
Thanks-giving prayers were uttered after the Liturgy, and Bishop Ioan communicated the greetings and archpastoral blessings of Metropolitan Vladimir to the liturgical community.
