  • The Feast of the Pentecost, at the Metropolitan Cathedral: “Come and dwell in us, and cleanse us of all impurity, and save our souls, o good One”

Sunday, 4 June, on the Feast of the Holy Trinity, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Nativity of the Lord Metropolitan Cathedral, assisted by the Cathedral’s priests and deacons.

The Sunday of the Pentecost, also called the Feast of the Holy Trinity, or the Great Sunday, celebrates the coming of the Holy Spirit, as described in the Acts of the Apostles (2, 1-4).

The Coming of the Holy Spirit is one of the oldest Christian holidays, and it has apostolic origin. This day is considered the birth day of the Christian Church, as since the Apostles became inspired by the Holy Ghost, they went to the world, spreading the Word of God among the entire Roman Empire, and even further, to the barbarians.

After the Divine Liturgy, the Metropolitan officiated the Great Vespers service, with unique and very special kneeling prayers, giving glory to God and invoking His Utmost protection of the people.
