On the day after the Feast of the Nativity of the Lord (Christmas), the Orthodox Church celebrates the Synaxis of the Most Holy Theotokos. Thus, on Tuesday, 8 January 2019, Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and all Moldova celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Nativity of the Lord Cathedral in Chisinau, assisted by the Cathedral Dean and Metropolitan Secretary, archpriest Vadim Cheibas, and numerous priests and deacons of the holy place.
Numerous citizens of Chisinau and guests from other regions of the country came to the central cathedral to participate in the Divine Service.
In the solemn atmosphere of the Liturgy, deacon Marian Plamadeala was ordained priest and appointed to the parish of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Chisinau.
The day after Christmas, called Synaxis of the Theotokos, is dedicated to the Most Pure Mother of God and Ever Virgin Mary, commemorating her rightfulness and humility in the mission of the salvation of the mankind.
Traditionally, in the second half of the day, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir was visited at the Metropolitan residence by numerous Christians from the entire country, who sang Christmas carols and congratulated the Arch-Pastor on the bright Feast of the Nativity of the Lord.
