On the Sunday of Pentecost, when the Russian Orthodox Church celebrates the Feast of the Holy Trinity, Metropolitan Vladimir celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the square of the Nativity of the Lord Cathedral.
The arch-pastor was assisted by the metropolitan secretary, archpriest Vadim Cheibas, and the clergy of the holy shrine.
The Sunday of the Pentecost is very special by its liturgical service and prayers. The event celebrates the coming of the Holy Spirit over the Holy Apostles on the 50th day after the Resurrection of Christ. The holiday has apostolic origin and is mentioned in the book of Acts (Capter 20). The Christian Church celebrates this Feast as the day of its foundation.
The Vespers service was officiated after the Liturgy, with special prayers called “kneeling” litanies, when the church goers prayed along with Metropolitan Vladimir for the renewal of the grace of Holy Spirit and strengthening, especially in these days of challenge and hardship that is overwhelming the humanity.
