Students, teachers, staff, and parishioners united their prayers on the Patron feast day at the Meeting of the Lord church of Moldova State University.
People who work and study at Moldova State University are happy to have this treasure – church, where they can participate in various events and activities along with all young parishioners.
The Meeting of the Lord chapel at the University campus served for over a century as worship site for boys’ spiritual schools. Thousands of young people who were raised here became important figures of Moldovan ecclesiastic life. However, in the Soviet times young people were deprived of this pearl, and the church was transformed into a gym.
The holy shrine has started to recover its beauty during the recent 20 years.
Father Octavian Mosin, Associate University Professor, active missionary and skilled teacher, has been serving as rector of this church for 12 years.
In a church, one thinks that this shrine is dedicated solely to prayer. This is not so in the students’ campus. Every week young volunteers meet here to coordinate their activities in their mission of visiting people in need. Lectures on spiritual issues, courses of English, charity activities are always organized in the chapel.
This atmosphere of unity was well felt during the Feast of the Meeting of the Lord. Parishioners were happy to talk to their kind pastor – father Octavian, who is always able to find time for everyone, giving a piece of advice, encouragement, pastoral blessing.
