  • On the Sunday after the Theophany, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir celebrated the Divine Liturgy in St. Nicholas Church in Chisinau

The Arch-pastor of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, celebrated the Divine Liturgy on the Sunday after the Theophany, 21 January 2018, amid the worshipers of St. Nicholas Church in the centre of Chisinau.

During the Divine Service, the parish rector, archpriest Petru Storoja, was awarded the Metropolitan’s distinction – the right of celebrating the Divine Liturgy with the Holy Doors open till the Cherubim Hymn, in sign of the Arch-pastor’s high appreciation of their ministry within this historical shrine of our Capital. Church distinctions were also awarded to other clerics of the Orthodox Church of Moldova.

This Liturgy was very special for deacon Rodion Storoja, father Petru’s son, who was ordained by Metropolitan Vladimir into priesthood and appointed to the church service in St. Nicholas parish in Chisinau.

After the Service, the Metropolitan delivered a pastoral message to the community members, expressing hope that the parish of St. Nicholas will continue to be a significant spiritual centre raising generations of youth in the light of our ancestral faith and Christian tradition.

Liturgical responses during this service were provided by St. Nicholas parish’s choir conducted by Nona Borsevschi.
