On the 18th Sunday after Pentecost, 8 October 2023, the feast day of Saint Sergius of Radonezh, His Eminence Vladimir, Metropolitan of Chisinau and All Moldova, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Church of the Life-Giving Holy Trinity in Konkovo, Moscow, the Representative church of the Orthodox Church in Moldova.
On the eve of the feast day, Saturday 7 October, His Eminence Vladimir officiated Great Vigil Service.
Together with the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, an assembly of priests and deacons officiated in Church Slavonic and Romanian.
Liturgical responses were offered by the parish choir, conducted by Mrs. Larisa Artyushenko.
At the end of the Service, the First Hierarch of the Orthodox Church of Moldova addressed an arch-pastoral message to those present, in which he congratulated the parishioners on the occasion of their participation in the Sunday Liturgy and the feast of St. Sergius of Radonezh, the wonder-worker and patron saint of Russia, who died peacefully in 1391.
Reverend Sergius of Radonezh was one of the founders of monasticism in 14th-century Russia, founder of the Holy Trinity Monastery in northern Moscow.
