10 December, 2017, His Eminence, Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and All Moldova, celebrated the Divine Liturgy on the 27th Sunday after Pentecost, in the Church of the Resurrection of the Lord in Jerusalem, together with Vicar Bishop Ioan of Soroca and a synaxis of archpastors, priests, and deacons.
The Divine Service started on Saturday evening, with the Great Vespers service, and lasted all night, according to ancient Orthodox Christian tradition.
These days, Metropolitan Vladimir and a group of over 100 pilgrims are visiting the Holy Land, in a spiritual effort preparing to the Feast of the Nativity of the Lord.
A big number of Moldovan pilgrims accompanying H.E. Vladimir took Holy Communion during the Liturgy.
The Church of the Resurrection of the Lord in the Holy Land, the most important shrine of Christianity, is a place that every Christian strives to visit at least once in the lifetime.
It is edified in front of the Tomb of the Lord and in the middle of a big ecclesiastical complex. The church represents the Cathedral of the Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem.
Orthodox church services are celebrated daily in this holy shrine, while on church holidays, the Divine Liturgy is celebrated by a synaxis of bishops and priests.
