„They that are whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.” (Luke 5, 31)
These words of our Saviour Jesus Christ remain the foundation of the Church’s pastoral mission in all times.
His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, is always open to all who sincerely seek a word of light and salvation. His desire to convey the message of the Gospel through modern means of communication, including social media, is not a departure from Tradition but rather an adaptation of the apostolic mission to today’s world – a world that is in urgent need of God.
The history of the Church is full of examples of those who, though they once persecuted the Truth, returned with a contrite heart and became great saints:
– Saul of Tarsus, who persecuted Christians, became Saint Paul the Apostle, a “chosen vessel” of Christ.
– Mary of Egypt, a sinful woman, became a great ascetic in the desert.
– Saint Moses the Ethiopian, once a thief and murderer, repented and became a holy monk.
The Church is not a tribunal of men but a hospital for souls. It does not scrutinise a person’s past but awaits their return. It does not condemn but calls to rising again. The blessing offered by a minister of the altar is a sign of hope, not an approval of sin. God knows the heart of each person, and His grace is poured out where He finds humility and a desire for repentance.
Let us not forget: “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” (James 4:6)
