Tuesday, 8th October 2019, on the Feast of Venerable Sergius of Radonezh, Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and all Moldova participated in the Divine Liturgy conducted by Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all Russia, in the Dormition Cathedral of the Holy Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra in Sergiev Posad.
Numerous arch-pastors, priests, deacons, and lay Christians prayed together with the patriarch on the Feast of St. Sergius, the hegumen of the Russian land.
Liturgical responses during the Divine Service were offered by the Holy Trinity Lavra’s choir conducted by archimandrite Gleb (Kojevnikov).
Patriarch Kirill uttered special prayers during the Divine Liturgy for the peace in Ukraine.
After the Divine Liturgy, the first hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church officiated a Te-Deum service at the icon of Venerable Sergius in the Cathedral square of the Lavra.
Patriarch Kirill awarded a high Church distinction to Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and all Moldova – the Order of Holy Hierarch Alexy, Metropolitan of Moscow, in sign of high appreciation of abnegated pastoral activity at the helm of the Orthodox Church of Moldova.
