  • Metropolitan Vladimir officiated the Divine Liturgy in the parish of Holy Apostle John in Peresecina, Orhei

     

    18 June 2023, on the Second Sunday after the Pentecost, His Eminence Vladimir, Metropolitan of Chisinau and all Moldova, visited St. John Parish in Peresecina, Orhei, to participate in the celebrations on the 80th anniversary of Fr. Vasile Garbuz, the parish rector.

    His Eminence Nicodim, Archbishop of Edinet and Briceni, concelebrated to the Metropolitan at the service. The arch-pastors were assisted by an assembly of priests and deacons: archpriest Vasile Garbuz, rector of the parish, archpriest Iulian Rata, dean of Orhei district, archimandrite Filaret (Cuzmin), superior monk of Capriana monastery and dean of Straseni district, archimandrite Paisie (Cecan), superior monk of Chitcani monastery, archimandrite Andrei (Cotruta), spiritual administrator of Hagimus monastery, and other clergy of Orhei vicariate.

    Present at the event among the liturgical community were the Chairman of Orhei district, Mr. Dinu Turcanu, mayor of Peresecina, and Mrs. Valentina Buzu.

    Liturgical responses were provided by the choir “Gnosis” from the church of St. Demetrius the New in Chisinau, conducted by choir director Sergiu Crudu.

    After the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence Vladimir officiated a thanks-giving litany, praying for the health of Fr. Vasile Garbuz.

    Congratulating the host of the celebration, Metropolitan Vladimir awarded to Archpriest Vsile Garbuz the Order of Gratefulness. Archbishop Nicodim was awarded the Diocesan Medal of St. Basil the Great, in sign of appreciation of prodigious activity for the well-being and glory of the Orthodox Church of Moldova.

    According to the Decision of Orhei Regional District, Metropolitan Vldimir and Archpriest Vasile Garbuz were awarded the title of Honourable Citizens of Orhei district, for devoted and abnegating work for the prosperity of the Orthodox Church.

    On behalf of Peresecina Mayoralty, Mayor Valentina Buzu, awarded to Fr. Vasile the Diploma of Excellence, in sign of self-sacrificing work and ministry in the name of Christ, and for the promotion of Christian values among parishioners.
