Sunday, 28 May 2023, the First Hierarch of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, Metropolitan Vladimir, officiated the Divine Liturgy and the Service of Matrimony in the parish of Holy Great-Martyr Demetrius in Chisinau suburb town of Vadul lui Voda.
Concelebrating to His Eminence Vladimir was Archbishop Nicodim of Edinet and Briceni and Bishop Siluan of Orhei, metropolitan vicar. The arch-pastors were assisted at the service by archimandrite Nicolae (Rosca), spiritual administrator of Ciuflea Monastery in Chisinau, archimandrite Filared (Cuzmin), monastic superior of Capriana Monastery, archpriest Igor Mamaliga, rector of St. Demetrius Church in Vadul lui Voda, and other priests and deacons.
Following an old church rule that unites the Divine Liturgy with the service of matrimony, Metropolitan Vladimir officiated the wedding of Fr. Igor Mamaliga’s son Vladimir and his bride Elena.
After the Divine Liturgy, Metropolitan Vladimir offered bibles to a number of parish children with good school results, and metropolitan diplomas to parish ctitors.
The arch-pastor congratulated the young couple of Vladimir and Elena, blessing them and wishing them long and happy family life. Metropolitan Vladimir thanked the parish rector, Fr. Igor Mamaliga and the ctitors of the holy place for the care and efforts for the prosperity of the parish.
