  • Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and Moldova consecrated St. Nicholas Monastery in Condrita

    Hundreds of pilgrims participated in the Divine Liturgy officiated by Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and Moldova on Sunday, 26 May 2019 in the Monastery of St. Nicholas in Condrita.

    The first hierarch of the Orthodox Church of Moldova was assisted by numerous clergy, including archpriest Vadim Cheibas, Metropolitan Secretary, archpriest Veaceslav Spac, spiritual administrator of St. Nicholas monastery in Condrita, archimandrite Vladimir (Trelea), confessor of the monastery, archpriest Zosima Toia, dean of Sector III Chisinau, etc.

    Present at the Divine Service, among numerous church-goers, was Mr. Oleg Vasnetsov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Moldova.

    During the Divine Liturgy, Metropolitan Vladimir handed out high church awards to persons who have worked for over 10 years on the refurbishment of the monastic settlement of Condrita: archpriest Veaceslav Spac and achimandrite Vladimir (Trelea)

    Hierodeacon Ignatie (Radulov) was ordained hieromonk, and monk Chiril (Copetinschi) was ordained hierodeacon, both appointed to obedience in the Ascension Monastery in Chitcani, Slobozia.

    After the dismissal prayer, the liturgical community followed Metropolitan Vladimir in a procession to the gate of the monastery, where a series of sculptures were consecrated. The sculptures were created on 6-26 May 2019 within the International Sculpture Camp focused on Christian motives in sculpture.

    Eight of this high artistic works will remain on the premises of St. Nicholas Monastery in Condrita, embellishing the holy settlement and pleasing the eye of pilgrims and tourists.

    All participants of the International Sculpture Camp were awarded Diplomas by the arch-pastor.
