Saturday, 1 February 2020, on the 11th anniversary of inauguration of His Holiness Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia, Metropolitan Vladimir and the episcopate of the Orthodox Church of Moldova participated in the Divine Liturgy in Christ the Saviour Cathedral, Moscow.
The service was conducted by Patriarch Kirill, who was assisted by numerous arch-pastors and pastors.
Liturgical responses were provided by the choir of the Christ the Saviour Cathedral directed by I. Tolkachov and the choir of St. Sergius’ Holy Trinity Lavra directed by archimandrite Gleb (Kozhevnikov).
The service was live broadcast on Spas and Soyuz Orthodox TV channels.
Prayers for the Church unity were uttered during the Liturgy.
Special petitions for Patriarch Kirill were included into the Litany of Fervent Supplications.
After the Divine Liturgy, Metropolitan Onufry of Kiev and all Ukraine addressed a message of congratulation to Patriarch Kirill, on behalf of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church, offering a gift of patriarchal cross and a set of Panagias.
In his turn, Patriarch Kirill thanked the liturgical community for sharing the joy of the celebration, along with the plenitude of the Orthodox Church.
