Today, His Eminence Vladimir, Metropolitan of Chisinau and all Moldova, had a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Alexandru Munteanu.
During the discussions, the parties addressed the role of the Church in building a society grounded in solidarity, in which people are bound together by empathy and care for their neighbour.
Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu underlined the importance of cooperation between State institutions and the Church in promoting kindness and moral values: “The role of the Church is important for spreading goodness, for the education of children and adults in the spirit of forgiveness and compassion,” stated the Head of the Executive.
In turn, Metropolitan Vladimir expressed the Church’s readiness to continue its social and pastoral mission: “The Church always remains close to people, especially to those who are suffering. We wish, together, to cultivate peace, understanding, and mutual help, so that our society may develop in harmony and solidarity.”
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Moldova expressed his hope that the dialogue and good cooperation between the Church and the authorities may be guided by the light of the Gospel, bringing more peace and hope into people’s hearts.
