  • Metropolitan Vladimir conducted the celebration of the Divine Liturgy on the Patron Feast of Hincu Monastery

    Thursday, 27 October 2022, on the Feast of Blessed Parascheva, the first hierarch of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, His Eminence Vladimir, conducted the celebration of the Divine Liturgy on the Patron Feast at the Monastery of Hincu. The celebration also marked the 30th anniversary of the reopening of Blessed Parascheva Monastery in Hincu, and the 55th anniversary of His Eminence Petru, Archbishop of Ungheni and Nisporeni.

    Thus, in the morning, Metropolitan Vladimir was greeted by archbishop Petru, hegumeness Parascheva (Cazacu), the Nun Superior of Hincu Monastery, and numerous priests and lay Christians present at the celebrations.

    The Divine Liturgy was officiated in Holy Great-Martyr Pantelimon basement sanctuary of the monastery’s Cathedral.

    Concelebrating to Metropolitan Vladimir were:

    His Eminence Agafanghel, Metropolitan of Odesa and Ismail,

    His Eminence Sava, Archbishop of Tiraspol and Dubasari,

    His Eminence Petru, Archbishop of Ungheni and Nisporeni,

    His Eminence Marchel, Archbishop of Balti and Falesti,

    His Eminence Nicodim, Archbishop of Edinet and Briceni,

    His Grace Ioan of Soroca, Vicar Bishop  of the Metropolis of Chisinau and all Moldova,

    His Grace Siluan of Orhei, Vicar Bishop of the Metropolis of Chisinau and all Moldova,

    Diocesan Secretaries, District Deans, Monastic superiors, priests and deacons from the Republic of Moldova and Ucraine.

    During the Divine Litrugy, prayers and thanks-givings were uttered, praising God for the mercy and blessings abundantly cast upon the Holy Monastery of Hincu during the past 30 years since its re-opening, upon His Eminence Archbishop Petru, Mother Parascheva, the superior nun of the monastery, upon the monastic settlers and all people of goodwill who contributed to raise from ruins this pearl of the Moldovan Orthodoxy.

    During the Small Entrance, Metropolitan Vladimir decorated Archbishop Petru with the First Category Order of Holy Hierarch Gavriil Banulescu-Bodoni. Hegumeness Parascheva was awarded the right of wearing the second pectoral cross, in sign of appreciation of the fruitful activity for the wealth and glory of the Orthodox Church of Moldova.

    During the Divine Liturgy, Metropolitan Vladimir ordained deacon Grigore Dodon into priesthood, appointing the cleric to Holy Great-Martyr Demetrius Church in Soroca.

    Liturgical responses during the service were uttered by the Choir of the Priests’ Wives of Ungheni and Nisporeni Diocese, conducted by Iuliana Plamadeala.

    After the Divine Liturgy, a Hymn-chanting procession followed with the relics of Blessed Parascheva.  The liturgical community then joined Metropolitan Vladimir at a Te-Deum-Laudamus thanks-giving litany, giving glory to God and uttering prayers to Blessed Parascheva for the protection and support.

    Metropolitan Agafanghel of Odesa and Ismail handed church distinctions to Archbishop Petru (order of Holy Hierarch Nicholas) and Hegumeness Parascheva (medal of Holy Princess Olga), on behalf of His Holiness Onufry, Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine).
