19 December 2018, on the Feast of St. Nicholas of Myra in Lycia, the arch-pastor of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, Metropolitan Vladimir, consecrated the renovated painting and celebrated Divine Liturgy in the winter church of St. Nicholas at the monastery of Tiganesti, Straseni district.
The metropolitan was assisted at the Divine Service by archpriest Vadim Cheibas, Metropolitan Secretary, archimandrite Irinarh (Costru), monk-superior of Tiganesti Monastery, archimandrite Paisie (Cecan), monk superior of the Monastery of Noul Neamt, archimandrite Vladimir (Poia), monk-superior of the Monastery of Butuceni, archimandrite Spiridon (Marin), monk-superior of the Monastery of Hirbovat, archimandrite Spiridon (Jalba), monk-superior of the Monastery of Veverita, and numerous other clergymen.
Although rather spacious, the church could hardly house all Christians arrived to participate in the Divine Liturgy on the Feast of St. Nicholas.
At the Small Entrance, the monk superior of the monastery, archimandrite Irinarh (Costru) was awarded the church Order of Holy Hierarch Gavriil Banulescu-Bodoni. Numerous ctitors who contributed to the renovation of the church building were metropolitan distinctions.
During the service, deacon Serghei Cebotari was ordained priest, and Igor Heiu, graduate of Chisinau Academy of Theology, was ordained deacon.
Thanks-giving service was officiated after the Liturgy, followed by a congratulation and pastoral guidance message of Metropolitan Vladimir.
