On 21st September, the current meeting of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church took place in the Patriarchal and Synodal Residence of Saint Daniel Monastery in Moscow, under the lead of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all Russia.
HE Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and All Moldova participated in the meeting of the Holy Synod, as its permanent member.
The Patriarch presented a report on recent canonical visits, relations with sister-Churches, cultural and spiritual activities, and the situation of orthodox Christians in conflict areas in the East.
The members of the Holy Synod received in audience a number of candidates for eventual election into the dignity of arch-pastoral service.
The decisions of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church of 21st October 2016 will be published later.
