At the invitation of His Eminence Sava, Archbishop of Tiraspol and Dubăsari, on Thursday, 11 September, His Eminence Vladimir, Metropolitan of Chișinău and All Moldova, visited the Episcopal Cathedral of the Nativity of the Lord in the city of Tiraspol, Transnistrian region.
The visit precedes the celebration of the 30th anniversary of archpastoral ministry of His Eminence Sava, which will be marked on Friday, 12 September, at the Cathedral of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Tiraspol.
Here, His Eminence officiated the Vigil Service, at which participated: His Eminence Sava, Sufragan Hierarch of the Diocese of Tiraspol and Dubăsari; His Eminence Anatolie, Archbishop of Cahul and Comrat; His Eminence Nicodim, Archbishop of Edineț and Briceni; His Eminence Ioan, Archbishop of the Diocese of Soroca and Drochia; His Grace Nicolae, Bishop of Ceadîr-Lunga, diocesan vicar; His Grace Patrocl, Bishop of Dondușeni, diocesan vicar; Archpriest Ioan Calmîc, Secretary of the Diocese of Tiraspol and Dubăsari; the Very Reverend Archimandrite Ioan (Dănilescu), Secretary to Archbishop Sava; Archpriest Vadim Corostinschi, Secretary of the Diocese of Ungheni and Nisporeni, together with numerous abbots, priests, and deacons.
During the Matins service, upon the report of His Eminence Sava, four diocesan clergymen were distinguished with the following ecclesiastical awards:
- Archpriest Serghei Moroz and Archpriest Anatolie Caușan – the right to wear the Mitra;
- Archpriest Vladimir Hlan and Archpriest Ilian Lungu – the right to wear the pectoral cross adorned with precious stones.
Tomorrow morning, beginning at 08:45, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, Primate of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, will be welcomed at the Cathedral of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Tiraspol.
