On the 23rd Sunday after Pentecost (the Sunday of the Good Samaritan), His Eminence Vladimir, Metropolitan of Chișinău and All Moldova, officiated the Divine Liturgy at the Nativity of the Lord Metropolitan Cathedral in Chișinău.
Praying with the archpastor at today’s Divine Service, were His Grace Ioan, Bishop of Soroca and Drochia, Archpriest Vadim Cheibaș, Metropolitan Secretary, and the clergy of the Cathedral. Numerous church-goers also participated in the service.
The liturgical responses were offered by the mixed choir of the Metropolitan Cathedral, conducted by Mrs. Angela Angheni.
“The Good Samaritan from today’s Gospel reading is our Savior Jesus Christ Himself, who, like the Samaritan in the parable, pours the oil of comfort and the strong wine of His divine love over our wounds. He not only taught us what it means to be a neighbor but also showed us how to become a neighbor to our fellow beings. For He is the light above all light, the rest above all rest, the joy beyond all joy, and the life and salvation that endures forever and ever.”
