  • His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir officiated the Divine Liturgy in the Protection of the Mother of God parish in Vertiujeni, Floresti

    Sunday, 23 October 2022, His Eminence Vladimir, Metropolitan of Chisinau and all Moldova visited the parish of the Protection of the Theotokos in Vertiujeni village, Floresti region, to celebrate the Divine Liturgy.

    Archpriest Ioan Zimbreanu, Dean of Floresti church circumscription, priest Valeriu Bumbac, parish rector, Mr. Ioan Scoarta, the main ctitor of the parish, numerous priests and lay churchgoers greeted Metropolitan Vladimir upon arrival and welcomed the hierarch to their parish.

    During the Small Entrance of the Liturgy Metropolitan Vladimir promoted the parish rector into the dignity of archpriest.

    The metropolitan awarded an arch-pastoral diploma to Mr. Ioan Scoarta, in sign of high appreciation and gratitude for active support of the renovation works in the parish church. Church distinctions were awarded to other ctitors of the parish.

    During the Divine Liturgy, Metropolitan Vladimir ordained deacon Valerian Josan into priesthood, and subdeacon Marcian Cocu into the dignity of deacon.

    The liturgical responses were provided by the Resurrection of Christ Monastery from St. Lazarus cemetery in Chisinau.

    The parishioners and guests present at the service received blessings and small gifts from Metropolitan Vladimir after the Liturgy.

    The community of Vertiujeni was established around the year 1780, when it is mentioned for the first time in chronicles. In 1883 stone church consecrated to the Protection of the Theotokos was built with the expenses of the nobleman Dimitrie Demi.
