Marking the anniversary of 300 years since the laying of the foundation stone and 35 years since the reopening of the Monastery of the Dormition of the Mother of God in Țigănești, on Sunday, 7 September 2025, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, the First Hierarch of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, officiated the Divine Liturgy.
In the morning, the Metropolitan was welcomed by the Very Reverend Archimandrite Irinarh (Costru), Abbot of the Monastery, together with the assembly of clergy, the monastic community, and the faithful gathered for the Divine Liturgy.
His Eminence concelebrated with His Eminence Anatolie, Archbishop of Cahul and Comrat, His Eminence Ioan, Archbishop of Soroca and Drochia, His Grace Filaret, Bishop of Căpriana and Vicar of the Metropolis, Archpriest Vadim Cheibaș, Metropolitan Secretary, the Very Reverend Archimandrite Irinarh (Costru), Abbot of the Monastery, the Very Reverend Archimandrite Ioan (Okropiridze), Spiritual Father of the Convent of the Dormition of the Mother of God in Tbilisi, Georgia, and a large gathering of priests and deacons who took part in the Divine Service.
The liturgical responses were rendered by the Choir of Țigănești Monastery, conducted by Mr Daniel Bostanica.
On the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the laying of the foundation stone of the Monastery, for his diligent activity for the good and glory of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, during the Small Entrance, the Abbot, the Very Reverend Archimandrite Irinarh, was awarded the highest clerical distinction — the right to wear a second pectoral cross adorned with precious stones.
At the conclusion of the Divine Service, a Te Deum of thanksgiving, praise, and supplication for health was celebrated, offering gratitude to the Lord for all the blessings bestowed upon this Holy Monastery and its monastic community.
