You loved the solitary and hesychastic life, / and then, with diligence, you hastened after Christ, your Bridegroom, and took up His easy yoke in your youth. / Armed with the Sign of the Cross, / you contended courageously against noetic enemies; / through fasting, prayer, and by shedding tears, / you extinguished the embers of the passions, O glorious Paraskevḗ. / Now, standing in the heavenly Bridal Chamber of Christ, together with the wise virgins, / intercede for us who honour your holy memory. (Troparion of the Feast)
On the 18th Sunday after the Pentecost and the feast of Our Lady Paraskeva, patroness of Moldova, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, Primate of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the church of the Holy and Life-Giving Giving Trinity in Konkovo, Moscow, the Representative church of the Orthodox Church of Moldova.
After the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir consecrated the monument to St. Stephen the Great, Prince of Moldova, located on the territory of the church complex.
The author of the bust is the well-known sculptor Constantin Constantinovich, whose works include the monument of Dimitrie Cantemir from Tsaritsino and the monument of the Holy Princes Olga and Vladimir at the main entrance of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.
The bust has become a beautiful addition to the project The Alley of Moldovan Saints, initiated with the blessing of Metropolitan Vladimir in 2023 by the Moldovan entrepreneur Mr. Dmitrii Slovac.
The next bust planned for placement is that of St. Metropolitan Gavriil Bănulescu-Bodoni, which will be inaugurated in November-December this year.
In the year of the celebration of the 330th anniversary of the church’s Great Consecration, His Eminence presented diplomas of appreciation and thanks to active parishioners and members of the church staff.
After the common prayer, the parishioners were congratulated by the Sunday school students and the mixed choir of the church, directed by Mrs. Larisa Sergeevna Artiushenko.
