Today, 12th November, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, assisted by numerous priests, officiated Panichida service in the memory of the Mitred Archpriest Gheorghe Nour, clergyman of the Holy Monastery of Ciuflea, who moved to the Lord.
The hierarch addressed a condolence message to strengthen the relatives, friends, concelebrating brothers, spiritual sons and daughters of Father Gheorghe, recollecting His Eminence’s meetings and conversations with the late clergyman. The metropolitan urged all those present to strengthen with prayers and hope of resurrection in our Savior Jesus Christ.
We remind that the coffin with the body of Fr. Gheorghe Nour will be placed in the Theodore of Tyre Monastery (Ciuflea), Chişinău, till tomorrow, 15.00, after which it will be taken to Japca Monastery, where His Grace Bishop Marchel of Balti and Falesti will officiate the funeral service on Thursday, 14th November.

The Mitred Archpriest Gheorghe Nour was born of the 7th of October 1942 in Scoreni village, Straseni raion. He was ordained priest in 1988 to serve at Ciuflea Monastery, where he performed the priest’s obedience till the end of his earthly days.
For outstanding merits before the Orthodox Church of Moldova, father Gheorghe was rewarded with numerous church distinctions, including the right to wear the Mitra, to celebrate the Divine Liturgy with the open Holy Doors till the Cheruvims prayer, and, recently, with the Second Degree “Church Merit” order.
