  • His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir made a canonical visit to the Diocese of Tiraspol and Dubasari.

    On 11 and 12 September 2017, the arch-pastor of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, H.E. Metropolitan Vladimir, made a canonical visit to the Diocese of Tiraspol and Dubasari, invited by the diocesan hierarch, His Eminence Archbishop Sava. Thus, on Monday evening, 11 September, the Metropolitan officiated the Great Vespers in the Ascension of the Lord church in Grigoriopol.

    In the archpastoral message at the Great Vespers, Metropolitan Vladimir explain the significance of his canonical visit to the Transnistrian region: “This canonical visit is, especially today, a strengthening of brotherly communion between hierarchs, and at the same time, a great joy to lay Christians. We wish such visit to bear missionary significance and to render the spirit of orthodox unity, strengthening of our orthodox spirituality and give value of our orthodox faith that unites us all.

    People feel encouraged, they feel honoured, and we are glad to see that this communion is used for the glory of God and for the salvation of people, when churches are edified, when cultural, philanthropic, educational events and institutions are organized, with the direct support of church institutions”, mentioned the arch-pastor.

    Tuesday, 12 September, on the commemoration day of the Right-Faithful Prince Alexander Nevsky, the arch-pastor of the Orthodox Church of Moldova celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Exaltation of the Holy Cross church that is being edified in Tiraspol.

    His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir was assisted at the Divine Service by H.E. Sava, Archbishop of Tiraspol and Dubasari, H.G. Diodor, Bishop of Melecesk and Cherdaklinsk, H.G. Vikenty, Bishop of Zlatoustovsk and Satchinsk, H.G. Siluan, Bishop of Orhei and Metropolitan Vicar, Archpriest Vadim Cheibas, Metropolitan Secretary, Archimandrite Nicolae (Rosca), monk superior of Ciuflea Monastery, and other priests and deacons.

    After the Divine Liturgy, a Te-Deum thanks-giving service was officiated, and the Metropolitan delivered a message of congratulation to Archbishop Sava on the 22nd anniversary of his arch-pastoral ministry.

    In the end, Metropolitan Vladimir distributed to the parishioners icons of St. Gavriil (Banulescu-Bodoni), the first saint beatified in the Orthodox Church of Moldova.
