  • His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir consecrated the cathedral “Resurrection of the Lord” in the Saint Lazarus cemetery in Chisinau

    24th September, 2023, was a special day of celebration and spiritual joy for the parishioners of the Monastery “Resurrection of the Lord” in the Saint Lazarus cemetery in Chisinau which hosted the visit of His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, the First Hierarch of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, on the occasion of the consecration of the interior of the cathedral “Resurrection of the Lord” after extensive work on the painting of the entire place.

    The divine service began with the consecration of the church, followed by the Divine Liturgy at which His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir was joined by His Eminence Archbishop Sava of Tiraspol and Dubasari, His Eminence Anatoly, Archbishop of Cahul and Comrat, His Eminence Petru, Archbishop of Ungheni and Nisporeni, His Eminence Nicodim, Archbishop of Edinet and Brisceni, His Grace Ioan, Bishop of Soroca and Vicar of the Metropolis, Protopriest Vadim Cheibaș, Metropolitan Secretary and Dean of Sector I Chisinau, Protopriest Nicolae Tudoreanu, cleric and administrator of the “Resurrection of the Lord” Monastery, Protopriest Pavel Vuluță, Dean of Drochia Church Circumscription, and an assembly of priests and deacons.

    During the Small Entrance, the clerics of the Monastery were decorated by the Metropolitan with ecclesiastical distinctions for diligent service:

    Protopriest Nicolae Tudoreanu – awarded the Order “St. Hierarch Gavriil Bănulescu-Bodoni” of the second degree;

    Priest Marcel Tudoreanu – promoted to the rank of Protopriest;

    Priest Gheorghe Borș – granted the right to wear the cross with precious stones;

    Today’s Liturgy was embellished by ordination of subdeacon Vasile Postolachi, 2020 graduate of Moldovan Academy of Orthodox Theology, to the rank of deacon.

    The liturgical responses were offered by the choir of the Țigănești Monastery, conducted by Mr Vitalie Chitoroagă.

    Towards the end, several founders and benefactors of the Monastery were decorated with ecclesiastical orders and metropolitan diplomas as follows:

    Mr. Ioan Scoarță – “Stefan cel Mare” Medal of the first degree;

    Mrs. Maria Scoarță – the Diocesan Medal “Wonder-working Icon of the Mother of God from Hîrbovăț”;

    Mrs Tatiana Scoarță – Diocesan Medal “Wonder-working Icon of the Mother of God from Hîrbovăț”;

    Mr. Ion Scoarță – “Stefan cel Mare” Medal of the second degree;

    Mrs. Feodor Negara – “Stephen the Great” Medal of the second degree;

    Mr. Cozma Marandici – “Church Merit” Order  of the second degree;

    Mrs. Mariana Marandici – the Diocesan Medal “Wonder-working Icon of the Mother of God from Hîrbovăț”;

    Mrs. Maria Ratcov – Order “Reverend Parascheva” of the second degree;

    Mrs. Maria Ratcov – Order “Reverend Parascheva” of the second degree;

    also other founders and benefactors of the Holy Monastery were decorated with medals and metropolitan diplomas.

    The hierarch thanked all those who work and serve the needs in this holy establishment, wishing them health and strength of soul in the fulfilment of the duties entrusted to them.

    Protopriest Nicolae Tudoreanu thanked His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, the founders of the Monastery and all those present for their support in all the works that take place at the Holy Monastery and the Eucharistic communion on the feast day.
