  • Divine Liturgy in the Nativity of the Lord Cathedral in Chisinau on the Seventh Sunday after Pascha

Sunday, 13 June 2021, commemoration of the Holy Fathers of the 1st Oecumenical Synod, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and all Moldova celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Metropolitan Cathedral in Chisinau.

The Cathedral clergy assisted the arch-pastor during the Divine Service.

Liturgical responses were provided by the Cathedral Choir directed by Angela Angheni.

During the Liturgy, His Eminence Vladimir ordained deacon Ghenadie Verbulschi into priesthood, appointing him to ministry the parish of Holy Parascheva in Lupa-Recea community, Straseni region. At the same service, Theological Academy graduate Ioan Boubatrin was ordained deacon.

The Seventh Sunday after Pascha is dedicated to the confession of the right faith and unity of the Church. We are called to preserve our faith in the light of Christs’s teaching, in unity with the Holy Apostles and Holy Fathers. This is increasingly actual in our days when the world faces numerous difficulties and appears to be spiritually disoriented. The Church calls us to confess the Orthodox Creed as it was left to us by the Holy Fathers of the First Oecumenical Council (Nicea, 325 AD) and the Second Oecumenical Council (Constantinople, 381 AD).

With the blessing of Metropolitan Vladimir, priest Serghei Barbu addressed a message of pastoral guidance to the church-goers, explaining the Sunday Gospel Reading (Luke 17: 1-13).

Today’s service was live broadcast by National TV and Radio Company, with liturgical commentaries provided by journalist Iulian Proca.
