Thursday, 20 November, 2019, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all Russia celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in Moscow, giving thanks and glory to God on his 73rd anniversary.
Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and all Moldova, together with the synaxis of arch-pastors of the Moldovan Church: Archbishop Sava of Tiraspol and Dubasari, Bishop Anatolie of Cahul and Comrat, Bishop Markel of Balti and Falesti, Bishop Nicodim of Edinet and Briceni, Bishop Ioan of Soroca, metropolitan Vicar, and Bishop Siluan of Orhei, metropolitan Vicar, concelebrated to the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Thanks-giving service was officiated after the Liturgy, during which the liturgical community prayed for the health and heavenly protection of Patriarch Kirill.
After the service, Metropolitan Iuvenaly of Krutitsy and Kolomna, on behalf of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church, congratulated Patriarch Kirill, mentioning, inter alia:
Today the plenitude of the Church wholeheartedly congratulates you on this memorable date and wishes that God, “Infinite in Power”, strengthen you in your toilsome and lofty Primatial labours, which are the continuation of the ministry of “the glorious apostles, pillars of the Church and preachers of the truth”.
In his turn, His Holiness Kirill cordially thanked the liturgical community for prayers and warm words.
