On the Feast of the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of the Lord, tens of church-goers came to the Nativity of the Lord Cathedral in Chisinau to participate in the Divine Liturgy celebrated by His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, and to share the spiritual joy of the Moldovan Capital’s Patron Feast.
Among the Christians present at the Divine Liturgy were representatives of the local public authorities, including Chisinau Mayor, Mr. Dorin Chirtoaca.
Immediately after the Liturgy, the multitude of church-goers followed the Hierarch and the concelebrating priests in a procession around the church, stopping at Gospel readings and prayers.
Closing the procession, Vladyka Vladimir stood up in front of the Christians to address them pastoral greetings and a message of spiritual guidance. In his message, His Eminence underlined that Chisinau is a truly blessed city, having a strong Protector and Intercessor before the Lord – His Most Holy Mother.
The Metropolitan also mentioned that every single Chisinau God-fearing citizen should thank the Theotokos for Her prayers and protection given to all of us.
The Hierarch expressed much joy due to the fact that so many believers had attended the church service, headed by city authorities, which demonstrates the succession of ancestral Christian custom where the state leaders had always been the first to come to the Holy Shrine and utter prayers to the Lord for the entire nation.
