On Sunday, August 4, 2024, on the feast of St. Mary Magdalene and St. Foca, the monastery of teh Nativity of the Lord in Zăbriceni, Edinet district, had a special celebration on the occasion of its second Patron feast and the 25th anniversary of its foundation.
With the blessing of the First Hierarch of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, His Eminence Siluan, Bishop of Orhei and Metropolitan Vicar arrived in the monastery to celebrate the Holy and Divine Liturgy together with the community.
His Grace was joined by Archimandrite Damian (Burlacu), abbot of the monastery, and a group of ministers.
The Holy Liturgy was attended by the faithful who came to share the joy of the Feast.
During the litany for the reposed ones, prayers were uttered in commemoration of Bishop Dorimedont, the founder of Zăbriceni Monastery.
After the reading of the Gospel of the day, His Eminence Siluan delivered a pastoral message in which he spoke about the miracle of the healing of the weak man of Capernaum and the fact that faith is essential for healing, both spiritual and physical. And so that we may be strengthened in our faith, let us always ask for the help of the Saints, including the Equal-to-the Apostles, St. Mary Magdalene and St. Foca, whom we honor on this day.
After the Divine Liturgy, a Te-Deum was celebrated in front of the icon of St. Mary Magdalene and St. Foca.
Afterwards, the hierarch conveyed the message of congratulation and blessings of His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir on the occasion of today’s feast.
At the end, the Abbot thanked His Eminence for the common prayers to the Good Lord and the Patron Saints of the Monastery, as well as to all the faithful present.
The celebration ended with the traditional fraternal agape.
