On the 6th Sunday after Pentecost, the Healing of the Paralytic in Capernaum, with the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, His Grace Bishop Filaret, Vicar of the Metropolis, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Nativity of the Lord in Chișinău.
The Cathedral’s faithful parishioners participated in the service, giving thanks to God for His blessings and prayed for peace, tranquillity for the living, and rest for the departed.
In today’s Gospel, we see the Saviour approaching the paralytic in Capernaum with mercy and strengthening him with His healing power. To the astonishment of all, the man immediately rose and went home restored to health, becoming a blessing for his family, which had long been burdened by his infirmity (Matthew 9:6–8).
Through this miracle, Christ our Lord proves that He was sent into the world by God to forgive and to heal. If He had this power while on earth, how much more does He possess it now, exalted at the right hand of the Father. This divine power is poured out upon us for our spiritual and physical well-being.
