Tuesday, 30th December, hierarchs of the Orthodox Church of Moldova participated in arch-pastoral assembly chaired by His Eminence Vladimir, Metropolitan of Chisinau and all Moldova.
The episcopal synaxis was honoured by the presence of Her Excellency Ms Maia Sandu, President of the Republic of Moldova.
During the discussions, one of the central topics was the need for a correct and constructive tone in the cooperation between the Orthodox Church of Moldova and state institutions, with the aim of serving the common good and strengthening moral and spiritual values in society.
Her Excellency Ms Maia Sandu expressed her gratitude to His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir and the members of the Holy Synod for the Church’s sacred mission of bringing society closer to Christian morality, emphasising the essential role of the Church in preserving spiritual balance and in promoting moral responsibility.
In addition, current issues concerning the challenges faced by young people and the contemporary family were addressed, highlighting the importance of responsible cooperation between state institutions and the Church in supporting moral education, family unity, and the dignity of the human person.
The meeting, held at the closure of the calendar year, provided an opportunity to reaffirm the mission of the Orthodox Church of Moldova to contribute, through prayer and service, to the cultivation of peace and moral values in the life of society.
