On Monday, 18 August 2025, the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, celebrates his 73rd birthday. On this occasion, the staff of the Metropolitan Administrative Department join so many congratulations received from the clergy and laity of the Metropolis of Moldova, with the following greeting:
Your Eminence,
“Those who serve the Church are called by God.”
So too was Your Eminence chosen “from your mother’s womb,” as Holy Scripture teaches us, and this calling has been confirmed throughout the work of your entire life.
Today, together with the fullness of the Orthodox Church of Moldova and all her friends, we proclaim with joy and gratitude: “Many blessed years, Vladyka, and we thank the Lord that He has granted us such a Hierarch!”
This anniversary day is special not only for Your Eminence, but also for the whole Metropolis of Chișinău and All Moldova, for you are the personality who, through steadfastness, devotion, and resolve, wisely guides the faithful people of the country, carrying with dignity the banner of our Holy Orthodox Church above all the trials and adversities of the times.
Alongside the liturgical life, the building of holy churches, and missionary and cultural activity, you have always shown closeness to the sick, the elderly, the lonely, and those lacking support, bearing fatherly care for all the children of the Church.
At this festive hour, with even greater fervour, we pray to Almighty God to grant you health, strength, and wisdom, so that from now on, with steady determination and trust in the Lord, you may continue to lead the Ship of the Church towards the harbour of salvation.
We are grateful for the love, counsel, and support you offer us each day, through your example and fatherly care.
May you live many years in peace, tranquillity, and divine protection, for the glory of God and for the continuation of the holy work of shepherding our people.
