His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, Primate of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, officiated the Divine Liturgy on the fourth Sunday after the Resurrection of the Lord at the parish of the Holy Great Martyr George in the village of Volintiri, Ștefan Vodă District.
The liturgical service began with the consecration of the church, followed by the celebration of the Holy and Divine Liturgy.
Concelebrating to the Primate were: Archpriest Constantin Portărescu, Dean of Ștefan Vodă; Priest Ioan Miron, parish rector; Archpriest Nicolae Florinschi, rector of the Russian parish of Holy Great Martyr George in Chișinău, together with a group of priests and deacons.
During the Small Entrance, Metropolitan Vladimir awarded the parish priest, Father Ioan Miron, the right to wear the epigonation and the jeweled cross, as a mark of appreciation for his pastoral service in the entrusted parish.
The liturgical responses were offered by the choir of Țigănești Monastery, conducted by Mr Daniel Bostanica.
Following the Divine Liturgy, the congregation participated in a cross-bearing procession around the church, and the refectory was blessed. A Te Deum of thanksgiving to the Lord was then offered.
The priest’s wife, along with schoolchildren, presented a concert of Paschal hymns.
All the faithful in attendance received from the Metropolitan small prayer books and icons as a memento of this historic event in the life of the parish.
