  • His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir and the Vicar Bishops celebrated the Divine Liturgy on the second day of Pascha, at the Metropolitan Cathedral in Chișinău

For several years now, it has become a tradition at the Metropolitan Cathedral that on the second day of Pascha, His Eminence Vladimir, Metropolitan of Chișinău and All Moldova, is joyfully welcomed at the hierarchical Divine Liturgy by bishops of the Orthodox Church of Moldova.

On Monday, 21 April 2025, the second day of the Feast of the Resurrection of our Saviour Jesus Christ, many faithful gathered at the Metropolitan Cathedral of the “Nativity of the Lord” in Chișinău to share in the great joy of Pascha with His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, the Vicar Bishops His Grace Siluan of Orhei and His Grace Filaret of Căpriana, and the clergy of the Metropolitan sanctuary.

In an atmosphere worthy of the Feast, the Primate, clergy, and congregation proclaimed the Good News — CHRIST IS RISEN! — offering united thanks to the Lord for having granted His flock to celebrate in peace and serenity this long-awaited and joyous feast.

The liturgical responses were offered by the Cathedral’s mixed choir, conducted by Mrs Angela Angheni, and the children’s choir led by Presbytera Teodora Burlac.

Following the Divine Liturgy, a procession took place around the Cathedral with the reading of the four festal Gospel passages, concluding with a thanksgiving Te Deum. At the close of the celebration, Metropolitan Vladimir extended festive greetings to all present, noting the impressive number of faithful who, despite physical fatigue, had participated in the Paschal Vigil.

On this day of great spiritual joy, His Grace Bishop Siluan conveyed greetings to His Eminence on behalf of the Synod of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, expressing gratitude for the paternal care and abundant blessings His Eminence bestows upon the faithful in our country and beyond.

To conclude the celebration, the children’s choir from the parish of Cotiujenii Mari, Șoldănești district, performed Paschal hymns, after which His Eminence offered small gifts to all the children present.
