  • The joy of the Resurrection proclaimed by the children of the Sunday Schools of the Stefan Voda Deanery

On the 4th Sunday after Easter, 26 May 2024, with the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, a great celebration took place at the Social Assistance Centre for mother and baby couples and children at risk in the village of Olanesti, Stefan Voda region. Several groups of children, members of the Sunday schools of the churches of the Stefan-Vodă Deanery, gathered to bring the joy of the Lord’s Resurrection in the hearts and souls of their fellow men, through the praises they raised.

The children presented various artistic programs, including religious songs, poems and thematic stage performances. Each team presented unique moments that reflect the diversity and richness of local Easter traditions. The audience was impressed by the talent and dedication of the children, who, through their performances, managed to convey a powerful message of love and solidarity.

A special highlight of the event was the recital of Easter carols, in which the Sunday school choirs sang with passion and harmony.

Established in 2008, the Social Assistance Centre for mother and child couples and children at risk in the village of Olanesti, Stefan Voda region, started its activity as a community social assistance centre for the placement of elderly beneficiaries and children. Later, however, it was reorganized to provide placement services for mother-and-child couples at risk and children in such situations.

The centre has 21 places and currently houses 15 beneficiaries, all children aged between 5 and 17. Here, children are offered comprehensive services, including accommodation, food, hygiene, pedagogical and psychological support, as well as medical services. The children remain in the centre until they are offered another form of protection or until they reach adult age.

This institution is a safe haven and vital support for children in difficult circumstances. The Centre’s staff work tirelessly to ensure the children’s comfort and well-being, providing not only basic needs but also emotional and educational support. Through the programmes and activities implemented by the Centre, children receive not only physical care but also opportunities for personal and social development.

The Centre is an example of solidarity and compassion, through its dedicated work and community involvement, which contributes to building a more equitable and empathetic society.
