  • On the 24th Sunday after Pentecost His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir celebrated the Divine Liturgy and ordained a priest at the Nativity of the Lord Metropolitan Cathedral

His Eminence Vladimir, Metropolitan of Chisinau and all Moldova, celebrated on the 24th Sunday after Pentecost (the resurrection of the daughter of Jairus), the Holy and Divine Liturgy at the Nativity of the Lord Metropolitan Cathedral in the capital.

The hierarch was assisted by the Metropolitan Secretary and the Cathedral’s Dean, Protopriest Vadim Cheibaș, together with an assembly of priests and deacons.

The arch-pastor, the priests and lay people thanked the heavenly God for all His blessings during the Holy Liturgy, and asked for the blessing of Christ the Lord for every good deed and protection from every enemy.

During the Divine Service, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir ordained Deacon Mihail Rotaru to the priesthood, appointing him to the First Deanery in Chisinau.

After the Lord’s Prayer, many faithful received the Body and Blood of our Saviour Jesus Christ.

The liturgical responses were provided by the mixed choir of the Metropolitan Cathedral conducted by Mrs. Angela Angheni.

With the blessing of the Hierarch, Father Vadim delivered the word of teaching of the Holy Gospel, telling the faithful that “when the woman was healed, the Saviour said: Who is he that touched me?” (Luke 8:45) in order to testify to her healing before all. He also said of the girl, ‘She is not dead, but asleep’ (Matthew 9:24), so that those present might testify that she was dead, and seeing her come back to life, those who disbelieved might believe. The testimony given by them concerning the death of the young woman and her being brought to life by our Saviour foretold His death. Those who see that he is alive again will not deny the resurrection.”
