  • Metropolitan Vladimir officiated Divine Liturgy on the Patron Feast of the Academy of Orthodox Theology of Moldova

12 February 2023, on the Sunday of the Prodigal Son, coinciding this year with the Feast of the Holy Three Hierarchs, Moldovan Theological Schools celebrated their Patron Feast Day.

Sharing the spiritual joy of the day, Metropolitan Vladimir visited the Holy Three Hierarchs Chapel of the Academy of Orthodox Theology and Holy Hierarch Gabriel Theological Seminary, to officiate the Divine Liturgy together with theology lecturers, teachers, and students.

The arch-pastor was assisted at the service by Archpriest Vetcislav Cazacu, Pro-Rector of the Theological Academy, Archimandrite Nicolae (Rosca), spiritual administrator of the Monastery of Ciuflea, and numerous priests and deacons alumni of the theological institution.

The liturgical responses were provided by the choir of theological institution, directed by presbitera Olga Ghetiu.

The Feast of the Three Hierarchs is a holiday of communion. The Three Hierarchs: St Basil the Great, St. Gregory the Theologian, and St. John Chrysostomos, are pillars of faith and beams of the Orthodox Church, leading the faithful flock on the path of salvation, in the light of the Apostolic teaching.

Metropolitan Vladimir, as the Rector of the Theological Schools, addressed a message of congratulation and spiritual guidance to the faculty and students, blessing and wishing them to be true missionaries of the Church of Christ, preaching fearlessly the saving truth of the Gospel.

Fr. Vetcislav Cazacu in his turn thanked the metropolitan for the arch-pastoral service and for sharing the joy of this important day, mentioning that the faculty and students of the theological schools, as faithful servants of Orthodoxy, are devoted to teaching of the Church and Christian mission in today’s society.
