14 January 2010, on the Feast of the Circumcision of the Lord and Feast of St. Basil the Great, the first hierarch of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, Metropolitan Vladimir, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Holy Trinity Parish in Chisinau, one of the oldest and historical places of worship in the capital of Moldova.
Metropolitan Vladimir was assisted at the Liturgy of St. Basyl by archpriest Vadim Cheibas, the Metropolitan Secretary, archpriest Vasile Panas, the parish rector, archpriest Pavel Borsevschi, Dean of the 2nd church circumscription of Chisinau, archpriest Nicolai Florinski, rector of St. George Church in Chisinau, archpriest Mihail Gondiu, rector of St. Haralambios Church in Chisinau, and numerous other clerics.
During the Small Entrance, Metropolitan Vladimir awarded to the parish rector, archpriest Vasile Panas, the 2nd category Church Merit Order.
Deacon Iulian Vasile Panas received priesthood ordination, with appointment to service within the Holy Trinity Parish.
Thanks-giving service was officiated after the Divine Liturgy, after which Metropolitan Vladimir congratulated Fr. Vasile Panas on the Patron Feast, wishing him to follow the missionary example of St. Basil the Great.
The parish rector thanked the arch-pastor for conducting the Divine Service and sharing the spiritual joy of the feast.
Before the departure, Metropolitan Vladimir distributed church calendars with icons to all participants in the service.
