Friday 17th February 2017, the first session in this year of the Synod of the Orthodox Church of Moldova was held at the metropolitan residence under the lead of His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir.
All hierarchs of the Orthodox Church of Moldova (OCM) participated at the session: H.E. Archbishop Sava of Tiraspol and Dubasari, H.G. Bishop Anatolie of Cahul and Comrat, H.G. Bishop Petru of Ungheni and Nisporeni, H.G. Bishop Marchel of Balti and Falesti, H.G. Bishop Nicodim of Edinet and Briceni, H.G. Bishop Ioan of Soroca, Metropolitan Vicar, H.G. Bishop Siluan of Orhei, Metropolitan Vicar, and Archpriest Vadim Cheibas, the secretary of the Synod of the Orthodox Church of Moldova.
The work agenda focused on the development of a new Statute of the organization and functioning of the Orthodox Church of Moldova.
The existing Statute was approved by the Government of the Republic of Moldova on 17th November 1993 and requires a series of adjustments.
The following session of the Synod of the OCM is planned for 24th February.
