The first hierarch of the Orthodox Church of Moldova made a missionary visit to the North of Italy, visiting Moldovan church-goiers in their communities.
On Saturday, 11 May 2019, Metropolitan Vladimir met Roman Catholic Bishop in the town of Como, Mons. Oscar Cantoni, and mayor of Como, Dr. Mario Landriscina.
Later in the day, His Eminence Vladimir had an interview with the General Consul of the Republic of Moldova in Milano, Mr. Serghei Goncearenco, and with Mr. Enrico Taglibue, Cavalier of the Order of the Republic of Italy.
On the Sunday of the Myrrh-Bearing Women, 12 May 2019, Metropolitan Vladimir celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Orthodox parish of St. Peter and Paul in Como.
After the Divine Service, the arch-pastor talked to the liturgical community about the courage and faith of the Myrrh-Bearing Women.
The Sunday of the Myrrh-bearing women is the holiday of all Christian women, and commemorates their example of faithfulness to Christ and love for His Church.
