Thousands of clergy and laity from the whole country responded to the call of Metropolitan Vladimir, participating in the walk of silent prayer in the support of traditional family values, left to us by our ancesters.
Following the archpastors of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, the participants started the procession from the Monastery of St. Theodore of Tyre, known as Ciuflea Monastery, and walked in a massive column down Saint Stephan the Great Boulevard towards the Metropolitan Cathedral Square.
The priests and lay church-goers – children, youth, and elderly – prayed on their way to All-Merciful God and His All-Pure Mother Mary, bearing banners with pro-family and anti-homosexual sin messages.

The family is currently in a fragile and difficult situation, as the model of the family itself is considered by some people as obsolete or outdated.
In this context, the Church expresses its care, responsibility, value, and, especially, support of the family, as the core unit of the society. Although the family has experienced numerous challenges and even threats lately, it has been the most stable unit of humanity, ensuring historical perseverance of the society.
The family was and is constantly present in the core of the pastoral and social mission of the Church, as it represents the foundation of the human society.
The Silent Prayer Walk is organized the fourth year consecutively, and comes to underline that marriage is a lawful union between a man and a woman, and the father-mother-child model is the foundation and the future of the modern society.
