  • The Sunday of the Kind Samaritan celebrated at the Nativity of the Lord Cathedral

On the 25th Sunday after Pentecost (of the Kind Samaritan) that coincided this year with the feast of St. John Chrysostom, Archbishop of Constantinople (407), His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and all Moldova, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Nativity of the Lord Metropolitan Cathedral.

The archpastor was greeted early in the morning by Cathedral Dean, archpriest Vadim Cheibas, and a synaxis of priests and deacons.

Prayers were uttered during the Liturgy, thanking the Lord for endless mercy.

The Sunday’s Gospel Reading reminds about the parable that Lord Jesus Christ told to a scribe, on the good Samaritan (Luke 10: 25-37). It teaches us that the Kingdom of God is within our souls, and that if we want to inherit the Heavenly Kingdom, we should achieve peace with our own self, showing compassion, sympathy, and love to any person around us. Every human being is created by God and bears the image and likeness of the Creator, that is why, every person around us is our neighbour, our brother, and should be precious to us. We can prove love for God only is we exhibit love to our neighbour.
