  • The Fourth Sunday after Holy Pascha, celebrated in the Nativity of the Lord Cathedral

On the Fourth Sunday after Pascha, with the blessing of Metropolitan Vladimir, the Divine Liturgy in the Nativity of the Lord Cathedral was celebrated by Vicar Bishop Siluan of Orhei.

His Grace Siluan was assisted at the service by the Cathedral Dean and metropolitan secretary, archpriest Vadim Cheibas, and by the synaxis of priests and deacons of the Cathedral.

The Sunday’s Gospel Reading (John 5: 1-15) relates about Lord Jesus Christ healing a man who had been infirm for thirty-eight years, at the pool called Bethesda. This evangelical story speaks about the Lord’s everlasting love, cast upon the humanity, by which God reveals the saving truth of the faith.

The infirm man described in today’s Gospel reading suffered of loneliness. God does not want people to be lonely, and by healing the paralytic at Bethesda pool, Lord shows to people an example of compassion, sympathy, love, and care for one’s neighbour.
