  • The Feast of Holy Arch-Angels celebrated at the Metropolitan Cathedral

MitropolitulThe Church of Christ celebrates once a year the feast of Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel, along with the synaxis of all angels. Holy Archangels are seven, those who stay in front of the Throne of the Glory of God, as says Saint John the Theologian: John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne (Revelation 1, 4). These seven are: Michail, Gabriel, Rafael, Uriel, Salatiel, Jegudiel and Varahiel.
On the Feast day of Holy Archangels Michalel and Gabriel and other Heavenly Powers, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and All Moldova celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral of Nativity of Christ in Chisinau.

During the Divine Service, protodeacon Gheorghe Simar was ordained priest and appointed to serve in the Church of Saint Great-Martyr George in Chisinau. Subdeacon Ioan Cenusa was ordained deacon and appointed to the church of Berezlogi village, Orhei district.

His Eminence congratulated the ordained clerics this occasion, wishing them to be worthy bearers of God’s Holy Grace, to serve Christ with utmost devotion and wisdom, multiplying the talent received at this Holy Sacrament, and to prove long-life service on the Altar of Faith.

In their pastoral message, His Eminence Vladimir urged the believers to live and experience what they pray for during the Divine Liturgy, when the deacon proclaims the litany: “For an angel of peace, a faithful guide, a guardian of our souls and bodies, let us ask the Lord”. The Metropolitan said: “Let us experience what we, people, ask the Lord for, that the Lord’s angel remains with us and gives us good thought, so that our souls are saved, to the glory of God”.

In the end, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir congratulated all Christians who bear the names of Holy Archangels, and the church-goers came up to receive the arch-pastor’s blessing.
