Saturday, 6 October 2018, Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and all Moldova celebrated the Divine Liturgy on the 200th anniversary of the consecration of the church of St. Nicholas in Chistelnita community, Telenesti region.
His Eminence Vladimir was assisted at the service by Telenesti circumscription dean, archpriest Barian Boldescu, and numerous priests. The service started with the consecration of the renovated church.
During the Liturgy, Metropolitan Vladimir awarded to archpriest Alexandru Nicorici, the parish rector, the order of St. Gavriil Banulescu Bodoni, in sign of appreciation of assiduous work and efforts for the renovation of the holy establishment.
Numerous priests received high church distinctions for their merits in church ministry.
During the Divine Service, the metropolitan ordained the 1st year student of Chisinau Orthodox Theology Academy, Alexandru Pruteanu, into the dignity of deacon, appointed to ministry in the Meeting of the Lord parish in Chisinau.
After the Liturgy, the liturgical community followed Metropolitan Vladimir in a Cross procession around the church, singing hymns, uttering prayers, and listening to Gospel readings.
Upon the dismissal prayers, Metropolitan Vladimir addressed a message of congratulation and pastoral guidance to the community presided by archpriest Alexandru Nicorici. The parish rector thanked the archpastor for fatherly care and guidance.
Later in the day, Metropolitan Vladimir officiated the Sacrament of Baptismal to the 5th child in the family of father Alexandru Nicorici.
