  • The 26th Sunday after Pentecost at the Metropolitan Cathedral

    Sun 26

On the 26th Sunday after the Pentecost His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Metropolitan Cathedral in the Capital, sharing the spiritual joy of the service with the clergy and people present in Holy Church, giving glory to God and praying for His mercy to the faithful Christians thirsty of Heavenly blessing.

During the service, subdeacon Roman Onica, 3rd year student at Theology Department of Cluj-Napoca, Romania, was ordained deacon and appointed for service in the Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel church in Durlesti, being also granted the first Archpastoral decoration – the right of wearing double orrarion.

It should be mentioned that His Eminence Vladimir had today their 1300th ordainment in their archpastoral service in Chisinau.

His Eminence Vladimir congratulated the new clergyman on this solemn event, wishing the young deacon to perform the spiritual mission with utmost responsibility and love for the Lord’s commandment, dedicating his entire life to the high vocation, regardless of any difficulties or temptations that may appear on the way.

The freshly ordained deacon promised His Eminence to be obedient and devoted servant of God, striving for the perseverance and prosperity of the Orthodox Church of Moldova and for the guidance of Christians, and thanked the Archpastor for blessing and for pastoral guidance.

Following the service, the church-goers listened to an inspiring sermon about the need of prayer and relevant behaviour that is characteristic for this perioud of ascese.

After the Liturgy the people were blessed by His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir and went to their homes, spiritually strengthened, with pure thoughts, pondering on the day’s Evanghelical words.
