Thursday, 13 June 2019, Bishop Petru of Ungheni and Nisporeni presided the session of the Commission for the Beatification of Saints of Moldova.
The members of the Commission were called to discuss the cases of Hieroschimonk Vikenty and his mother Glikeria, who were bestially murdered during the communist persecutions of Christians. Hieromonk Vikenty refused to close the church in the community of Taslic, Grigoriopol region. Shortly after this, hieromink Vikenty and his mother were found bestially murdered, with numerous cut wounds in the region of head and heart.
The members of the Commission were assigned further work for the study of the lives of Hieromonk Vikenty (Chimitiuc) and his mother Glikeria, within the process of their canonization (beatification) as holy martyrs.
